2009 is coming to an end

Well it's been a busy last couple of days.

On Tuesday the 22nd I took my final for my Anatomy and Physiology classes. I was really nervous about taking it because last quarter I had failed the class and this was my second time taking it. I had to pass it though otherwise I can't move on with anymore vet tech classes. I spent the entire week before studying my butt off, and stayed up late and showed up to school 1 1/2 hours early that morning to do even more last minute studying. I felt that the written and visual parts had gone well, but wasn't 100% sure. I was extremely happy to find out that I got an 83% on my final and had a B as my final grade!!! I had a drink to celebrate :)

Starting that Tuesday night we got a HUGE snow storm. I think Northfield ended up with 15-20 inches. Then on top of that we got freezing rain. Oh and right now as I look out my window it's snowing yet again.

Ok now onto Christmas....

Thursday was Christmas Eve. Tony went to his parents house in Belle Plain and I drove first up to Golden Valley to drop my dog Cloe off at my moms house. I did this just in case I got stuck up there, then she wouldn't be at the apartment alone overnight. Then I drove over to my grandparents house to visit with Grandma Gerry. I also had asked her if we go drive over and see Grandpa. He is in a nursing home because about 6 weeks ago he fell and broke his hip. After our visit I dropped Grandma off at home and headed to Dad and Rachel's house. Dad, Rachel, Ryan, Katie and I opened presents together. Around 5:00 the rest of the Lowes showed up and we had a fantastic dinner of the usual ham, green bean casserole, mashed taters, rolls, etc.

I wish I could say that Christmas day was just as good, but it wasn't. Because of the bad weather and freezing rain in Northfield Tony and I got stuck at the apartment. It was nice to be able to hang out with him all day, but he missed his Christmas at his Grandparent's farm, and I didn't make it down to Plainview to see my family. Oh well though it's not the end of the world. It was better that we weren't out on the icy roads.

I got lots of good stuff this year, and am over all happy with how the holiday turned out!

Hopefully everyone elses Christmas was good too!

Annual Christmas get together with the Jasmers and Deoperes!

For the past couple years three families have gotten together to celebrate Christmas together; mine, the Jasmers, and the Deoperes. This years was on December 19th. Everyone arrived at moms house around 5:00. A wonderful dinner of swedish meatballs, cheese bread, and veggies was served. Now enough with the boring details....

Right away the cameras were busted out and "normal" pictures of us "kids" were taken. In order from left to right is Chris, Robin, Me, Lisa, Katie, Brianna, and Leanza.

Everyone pretty much just sat around and chatted, caught up with each other, and drank. It was a fabulous weekend. Katie and Lisa did some interpretive dancing for us which is always a nice treat! There were also 4 dogs there. My 2 pugs Allis and Cloe, Katie's Chihuahua Laila, and Brianna's Bug Bam-Bam. It was a bit crazy, and the dogs sure slept good that night.

In the above picture Lisa thought it would make a good picture to pretend to pee on me while I was holding my dogs...I couldn't help but start laughing too.

These people have been around my entire life and I don't know what I would do without them!

On Sunday my sister Katie and I went to our childhood friend Darla's house so that she could cut our hair. I got a bob type cut and Katie just had hers trimmed and the layers freshened up. We both had highlights added too. Our hair turned out fabulous, which is always the case with Darla's work. If anyone needs a hair cut or color and is willing to drive to St. Louis Park, I highly recommend her. :)

Dog/House Sitting

This past weekend a friend of my moms went out of town, so I stayed at her house from Friday until Monday night to take care of her dog. It was a pretty uneventful weekend, but I had Cloe with me so the two dogs rough housing kept me busy.

Angus is the dogs name that I was watching. He is a 1 year old cocker spaniel and a very sweet dog. Cloe is my 11 month old pug, so the two of them together have endless amounts of energy. Allis stayed at home with Tony as she doesn't appreciate the puppy energy.

Cloe and Angus had all kinds of fun together. They chased each other through the house, played tug-0-war, played in the snow, wrestled and then they would take a quick nap and do it all over again. With how rough the dogs played, I'm surprised that they didn't hurt each other. The only injury done was to my eye liner. It fell off the bathroom counter and I failed to notice it. The next thing I know, Angus is crunching on something made of plastic...yup you guessed it...it was my eye liner, so black eye liner RIP because I really liked you! I also have 2 really cute videos of Cloe and Angus together so I will figure out how to get them off my phone and then post them up here!

This is me

Well, I've caved in and started a blog. Sometimes there are things in my life that are exciting that I just want to share with everyone. Instead of telling it over and over to people, I can now write it down here and whoever wants to read it can.

To catch you up to speed with my life......I lost my job in September and have moved out of my house in Burnsville. It is up for sale so hopefully it will sell soon. I now live with my boyfriend and our two pugs in Northfield. I am still pursuing an A.A. degree in Veterinary Technology. School has been going very well for me and I love every moment of it, and will be finished in about 1 1/2 years. Who would of known that cleaning up dog urine and sticking animals with needles would make me so happy?!

I am new to this thing so if there are any ideas on how to make it better, let me know, otherwise just sit back with a mug of coffee, hot chocolate, bottle of mich golden light, or whatever else you fancy to drink, and enjoy reading about my life!
