60 Hours A Week

About 6 weeks ago I aquired a second job. I had been looking for a little while for one because student loans are now due and with only one job I'd be negative $100 each month. That doesn't even include being able to fill my car up with gas, eat, or get food for my dog.

One night while surfing facebook, stalking my friends pages, I came across a posting on Minnesota Valley Veterinary Services page. They were looking for a part time receptionist. I kind of passed it by, but after a week and lots of thinking I decided to get more details on the job. This is the Vet Clinic that I did my internship at, located down in LeSueur, MN.  That was about a year ago, and I have stayed pretty good friends with everyone down there. After learning exactly what they were looking for, I applied for it, and interviewed. Now I am a part time vet tech/receptionist for them and I am so happy down there.

I also still work at the Animal Humane Society. I love my fellow techs that I work with there as well. Since this is where my heath insurance is though, I have to work at least 32 hours a week here. With MN Valley Vet, I work about 60 hours a week/7 days a week, more if there's over time anywhere.

For now this is going fine. The only crappy part is never having a day off.  I still have somewhat of a social life, and I get stuff done at home, and somehow still have time to see Nate. It's a good thing I like to be busy.

On the days when it's hard to want to go to work, because I'm so tired, I just remind myself that this is not a permanent situation. I'm paying my dues right now, and someday I will not need to have 2 jobs, but for now, while I have so many bills, this is just the way it has to be! Good thing I have a good work ethic and a supportive boyfriend!!
