This weekend was busy one. I'd like to start off with my house. I got an email at the end of the week from my realtor that since we haven't gotten any offers, he thought we should lower the price soooo we did by $10,000. To update those of you who don't know what's going on...I'm trying to sell my house before it gets foreclosed on.
I bought the house on May 31st 2007 for $143,000. My realtor and I started the selling price at $160,000 because since I don't have a job we have to be able to prove to the bank that we have tried selling it at a bunch of different prices and weren't successful. This way the bank will be more likely to accept a lower price thus a short sale happening. I didn't get any showings at the higher prices, I got about 3 showings right around $120,000 then nothing again. At $99,900 I had about 6 showings, and now the house was lowered to $89,900 this week. Pretty sad considering what I paid for the place, but thus is life right now.
This weekend though gave me a little hope that the place might just sell. A few people asked if I've had any offers yet. Saturday I had 4 showings, and Sunday there were 5 showings. Monday there are 2 showings scheduled so far and also 1 for Tuesday. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that my house sells.
On to happier topics now...Friday I had a job interview! FINALLY! It's to be a dietary aide at the hospital here in town. I applied for it about 2 weeks before Christmas so I had given up hope that they would ever call me. I couldn't believe it when they did call me!! I will know sometime this next week if I got the job or not.
Saturday I met up with Mom, Tom, Karen, Mark, their 3 kids, Katie and Grandma Avalon for Grandma's birthday. She turned 73! We ate lunch at the Golden Wok in Bloomington. Then we headed over to the Masonic Home to have birthday cake with Nana so that she could be part of it.
Sunday Tony and I met up with Dad and Rachel at The cracker Barrel for lunch. I had forgetting their Christmas presents on Christmas Eve so I still needed to get those to Dad and Rachel. I also needed to give Dad back his drill. It was yummy food, and good company! Then Tony and I decided that we needed to be out of the apartment for a while so we walked around Best Buy and Target. Sunday night we just sat around relaxing, listed to all the neighbors hoot and holler at their tv's because the football game was one. I am so glad that Tony isn't into sports because I have no interest myself in watching football. If I'm going to watch, then I had better be there in person. Anyways Tony convinced me to watch the movie "The Unborn". I am terrified of scary movies and needless to say, after it was done I had to have Tony come outside with me to take the dogs out. ha ha.
Anyways it was pretty uneventful as far as exciting things go, but at the same time it was a good weekend! Now it's time to start the week, go to classes, and keep my fingers crossed that I will get the job!
